I dunno how many hits i got at first; didn't even figure out how to install Sitemeter for a good couple of months. I was pleased that my -second- ever post got a comment; must've been some random blogger hit.
i think it didn't really start taking off till February or March or so.
So how many hits did you get when you first started? I counted myself lucky if ten people wandered by in a day.
