Of course, if we're talking traditional values from the "inerrant word of God", then strictly speaking the woman doing the breaking up should have been keeping her mouth shut and letting the menfolk do all the talking. It's right there in the Bible, after all - in St. Paul's advice to the young Church.
The video is funny, but it keeps making the usual references to interracial marriages, which have failed to convince blacks and Hispanics to support civil rights. It does it somewhat better than is normal, because it portrays Chastity as a religious extremist, but it's still unlikely to be effective with racial minorities. Videos like this could work and help repeal Prop 8 in 2010, but if they don't, white GLBT people might decide to hate on black people, again, essentially because they failed to reach out to them properly.
The woman was perfect though. She reminded me of that bureaucrat lady in pink in the Harry Potter movie. And when that guy said "I'm sorry" bashfully...
"How would you feel if your marriage was put to a vote?"
Which of my three marriages are we discussing, hahaha. (Alon, one out of two hetero marriages end in divorce, which is expressly outlawed by the Bible they claim to believe in. Religious hets need reminded of this, OFTEN.)
Great stuff, Belle. I'll try to link these next week when I get a chance!
Interests: Ruminating, speculating, pontificating, luxuriating, eviscerating. And cheese. And some other things. I can't name all of them here, I'm just mysterious that way. Did I say "mysterious?" I meant "lazy." Oh, well.

I guess other people were thinking as I have been! People with more talent than myself, too, thankfully.
Love the "cowbell" idea for the NOMbies that you left on my blog, too.

Thanks, D. How's you?
Daisy: yeah, that part of the video was good. I think overall it effectively portrays anti-SSM leaders as crazy and domineering.
