Can't argue with that logic!

I'm only posting this because I was about to write something that approximated this level of incoherence by way of sarcastically exaggerating and conflating all the various anti-Obama narratives running around; but this person seems to have done the job for me, and serious, too (unless it's a troll, I suppose)

comment to this story on Palin:

The liberal media is foaming at the mouth at the thought of a woman VP and a War Hero in command of the government of our country!.....instead, their misogyny, sexism and white guilt remorse have pushed their clouded minds to support a young, naive individual that has no experience in governance or foreign affairs and his only strength is the skill of oratory.

The fact is, America still does not know who the real Barack Hussein Obama is, but Americans remember Obama’s 20 year close association and blood relationship with his religious leader, priest and father image, Jeremiah Wright.
Americans remember vividly the hideous videos of Jeremiah Wright's congregation which included Obama and Oprah, when they were celebrating in bombastic joy, the murderous attack on America on 9/11.

Americans that love our country and have always been proud of it, know Barack is a radical extremist and black supremacist that has a hidden agenda that is a serious threat to the American values we all treasure and cherish.

The sexist liberal media will not succeed in destroying the McCain/Palin presidential campaign the way they destroyed Hillary Clinton's effort, because Americans including all the democrats that supported Hillary Clinton will make the choice to put our Country First and vote for McCain and Sarah Palin.

Country First!
McCain/Sarah Palin

yeah, take THAT, you bunch of radical war-hero-hating sexist P.C. liberal fundamentalist Moslem Christians! Shame on you for trying to fob that young naive wily twenty-years' worth of indoctrinated rookie with a sinister hidden extremist agenda on us! Why do you hate America, why?...

...oh, God. Is this supposed to be one o' those PUMA people? Or are they just playing one on the Internets, or is there a difference, or does it matter? It's a bit of a Popular Peoples' Front of Judea POV at this point in any case, I realize, but...

That's just funny. Karl Rove practically begged the Republicans to stop harping on Obama's middle name, saying it made them look racist.

So far, the McCain/Fey ticket is slowly grinding itself down.

The only thing that rant managed to miss was how Obama is the standard-bearer for the evil Homosecksual Agenda. For once, I'm glad to be left out.

Apparantly, this troll hasn't been following the polls of late....Sarah the FauxMILF isn't quite capturing the female vote these days, if the latest polling means anything.

And please...the Jeremiah Wright thing has been played to death already.

Memo to wingnuts: IT'S. SERIOUSLY. OVER. OBAMA ROUTS. MCCAIN/PALIN'S DONE. DEAL WITH IT. OUT,

...okkkayyyyy, maybe whoever it was IS serious. or, well, some people apparently are. still. again. more. Violet? Commenters? Please put the crack pipe DOWN.

IF even frigging Robin Morgan thinks Sarah Palin sucks and it's better to vote for Obama and is willing to say so, and you think that's SCANDALOUS, you know, it's not "mainstream feminism" that's lost its senses. Really, it's not.

I was wondering if you'd been reading Violet recently. It's an education.

It seems that women who apparently loath Palin (sister of Michael? How surreal!) are being forced against their will to defame her by a Patriarchy enraged that they once supported Hillary Clinton. You can imagine the pained look in their eyes as they write what they know to be dreadful lies about a *true sister*, and their agonized yelps as the patriarchal flail descends once more upon their shoulders. "I'll teach you to support politically ambitious women, you SLAGS!!! We're having no fallopian tubes in the War Room!"

Whip-crack, whip-crack, whip-crackaway!

Thank God we have Violet - without her the story would probably never have got out.

belledame222 said...

I know. Katha Pollitt and (!) Robin Morgan, those traitors to the cause: shameful, it is. Hell, Hillary herself, amirite, for giving up too easily.

honestly at this point I think Phyllis Schlafly could call herself a "feminist," not changing anything else about her positions or actions, and some...people would be suddenly falling all over themselves to defend her from the meen unfair slagging she's getting.

I mean, yeah, I've seen craptastic sexist shite leveled at Palin, sure, same as any other woman in the public eye since...ever? Why this automatically means that mocking her for making Dan Quayle look like a genius as well as having some pretty fucked up reactionary views, YES they're real, makes one a traitor to wimminhood or something is simply beyond my ken.

it is good to know about all those -other- previously sane, reasonable people who've turned into raving nutters overnight, i.e. the "Obamabots." of which presumably I must be one on account of I'm voting for him at all.

Well, it's the answer to every debater's prayer isn't it, "bot"?

Anybody who disagrees with you is to be designated a sexbot, an Obamabot, a thirdwavebot, or, horror of horrors, a man. None of whom should expect a free ride on I too blame the patriarchy, sorry, on Reclusive Leftist because it's hosted by a world class intellect honed over many years of academic cut and thrust. Ha! is that the best argument you could come up with? I'm not even going to dignify it with an answer, you whateverbot - you're out of here! And I bet you were a man all along!

OMF'nG....I just saw Violet Socks' latest rantage on Sarah Palin flashing her feminist creds in that Katie Couric interview. Forget the crack pipe metaphor....we are right about near full-blown freebasing Crystal Meth now.

First she quotes Sarah the FauxMILF saying that she's a feminist, then adds this:

I agree, Gov. Palin. That’s how I define a feminist too.

I would love to have a woman in the White House who calls herself a feminist. I would love to have that role model for our daughters.

Yeah, right...a role model who can't name a single Supreme Court case other than Roe vs. Wade; who believes in the "constitutional right to privacy" as long as the states get to judge whether privacy rights should remain; who still has a minister who believes in hunting down witches (and last time I checked, most of the Religious Right ministers whom fawns over Caribou Sarah do happen to believe that witches should be burned at the stake), and whose main form of activism consists of praying for a oil pipeline to be finished -- and did I mention the fact that she wants rape victims to pay for their own rape kits, Doc Violet???

But, she's virulently anti-porn, and she's a woman running for a high place, so we should cut her some slack....right???

And then get this bomb she throws at Michelle Obama, whose only apparant sin in Dr. Socks's mind is to be Barack's wife....and, I guess, because she happens to be Black:

By the way, can’t resist pointing out the irony of feminists rejecting Sarah Palin — a self-described feminist who is unashamed of her work and ambitions — and lauding Michelle Obama, a woman who appeared at the Democratic Convention in full Stepford Wife mode and who won’t even call herself a feminist..; [..]

Of course, Violet would feel so much better about Michelle Obama if she came out and then got slammed by the Far Right for being an uppity nig...ahhh, I mean a mean bitch like Hillary Clinton was. Sure, she would.

So I get it now: a feminist is only who Violet Socks says is a feminist now. Never mind if the person actually promotes feminist principles or not.

And she as a White woman gets to lecture Black men and women what racism and sexism is, too.

She may be reclusive, but she's no damn leftist to me.

Democrats will vote for the Democrat. Republicans will vote for the Republican. That’s how it has always been.
John McCain and Joe Biden are politicians. They know their numbers, and they know Washington.
What is different about this election is culture. Where is America going, culturally?
This is where Barack Obama and Sarah Palin come in.
Some say race is a factor against Obama, but I say it is the opposite: Obama has been propelled upwards by his skin color. The positive ‘racism’ (Black-Americans supporting him, White-Americans feeling guilty about the legacy of slavery) far outweighs the few remaining pockets of negative racism (traditional bigotry) that still exist in our country.
Whereas Black-Americans account for 12 percent of America, women number about 51 percent.
This is where America’s reaction to Sarah Palin gets interesting. It is not only sexism at play, but regionalism too. Keep in mind that America’s reaction could be vastly different from the media’s reaction, which tries to intervene in how America thinks and observes for itself.
For the last decade, American women have been trying to become either the fifth ‘Manhattanite’ cast member of ‘Sex and the City’ or a ‘Desperate Housewife’ on Wisteria Lane. The White male executives who created, packaged and marketed these female stereotypes have made plenty of money as women across America spent time and money trying to become ‘Carrie Bradshaw’. But somehow, these wanna-be’s never lived it up as glamorously.
Sarah Palin is all about God, Family, Country and Shot-Guns. She is a completely New American Woman. She was not constructed by a Public Relations agency in either New York City or Los Angeles. She is not a Hollywood creation. Sarah Palin is simply a product of American small-town wholesomeness: happy childhood, hard work, self-discipline and a bright, and almost chirpy, outlook on life.
Sarah is not the high-maintenance, drama-seeking, bulimia-suffering fragile caricature of a working woman as peddled by TV.
Her husband, Todd Palin, is not a neurotic metro-sexual obsessing over the price of organic arugula, or whining about his commitment phobias to his shrink. He is a man’s man, and frankly, a woman’s man: just your regular American guy—wholesome and uncomplicated.
Sarah and Todd are American ‘retro’, but it is retro made cool all over again. They are a brand of Americana that has been tested and true—genuine, confident and mature.
Something happened to the Obama brand on the way to the election. It is as if the fashion gods decided that “Didn’t you know? No one wears Obama after Labour Day.”
Once exotic and different, the Obama brand has been turned into something weird and creepy. “Obama’s Witnesses,” “Obama’s Blue-Shirts,” “The Obama Youth Fraternity League”…Plus, after the initial swooning over him, most people still think that there’s something “off” about Obama; as if he’s hollow, or hiding something.
Today, the Obama brand has become decidedly “uncool”. That’s why people tuned out from watching him debate McCain.
On the other hand, Americans are discovering that they are intrigued by Sarah Palin. The TV pundits may want to spin things their way, but the surest measure of who won the Vice-Presidential Debate is that, at the end, the vast majority of viewers walked away from their TV sets and said to themselves, “I’d like to see more of Sarah Palin—unfiltered and uncut.”
The Obama camp may be celebrating too early. There are still plenty of people out there that haven’t made up their mind, and Obama’s triumphalism may begin to sound like arrogance, and he’s already been accused of that.
This is indeed a culturally interesting time to be an American.

Mike, I'm going to write this with the assumption, nay, hope, that you are not an -actual- spambot.

briefly: um, no, actually, a number of polls have demonstrated pretty clearly that if Obama were white and similarly positioned, he'd have another five or six points to him right now. I mean, much as we all know that there's -no more racism-, and that the constant barrage of "Barack Hussein Obama" and monkey dolls with him are just, what, signs of what a smooth ride he's gotten.

Two--oh lordie, the man's man. Yes, because Obama and ffs Biden are all about the organic argula. And by the way, really loving the whole conflation of class with -manliness-. And, what, Palin's a woman's woman, is that it? Shoots moose but still looks good in a pair of designer pumps? Well thank fuck for that, I mean.

You know what I'm looking for in a President? Someone who can do the job. Someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about. I sure don't see that with Palin. I think the polls on the debates show pretty well that the vast majority of the 70 million or so people who watched them felt the same way. That is, the -independent- voters tapped Biden as the winner by a substantial margin.

Know why? Because, despite the apparent belief of McCain and a bunch of pundits, -most Americans aren't bloody stupid.-

And, it's insulting as all hell to insinuate that a couple of winks and grins and aw shuckses are enough to sell us all, -again-, all by themselves. That we're all -incapable- of actually listening to the frigging content, ever.

For that matter, that people can't tell the difference between someone who's really empathetic and someone who makes chirpy cliche noises but can't even deviate from her script when the man opposite her is clearly and genuinely moved by a memory of his own actual tragedy.

So, Mike: can you play "Melancholy Baby" at all?

belledame222 said...

while we're at it: you might want to turn off the TV and go outside at some point. I mean, I don't actually give a fuck about "Sex and the City," never even watched it, in fact.

belledame222 said...

and, assuming you come back to do anything other than y'know cut and paste and dump, appreciate it if you can put breaks between the paragraphs: bit hard on the eyes there.

What happened, I think, is that something snapped in Violet at about the time of the Anonymous Horde. She decided that the representation of women was in a serious crisis, and that the crisis outweighed the substance of policy.

It's not entirely irrational in itself but it becomes so when one is not willing to hear the counterargument.

belledame222 said...

-flatly- she's lost it, sorry. That plus the rampaging paranoia about Obama--

and ffs Sarah Palin doesn't fucking -represent- me. We may both be white women of roughly middle-to-upper-middle class standing, but there any similarity ends. shit, I feel like I have more in common with Obama for having ancestors in living memory having immigrated to this country and having a "funny" name. what does Miz Family Values God N Country have to do with me? she has the same reproductive organs, but she doesn't even have enough respect for me to leave the law so that I can do what I need to with my own. fuck her and the moose she rode in on.

Anonymous said...

Oh, nono. I wasn't talking about the numerical representation of women. I was talking about the cultural presentation of women. Essentially, Violet has come to believe that The Young Peoplings have absorbed hateful images and ideologies about women to the extent that even young women have contempt for women, and that this is greater danger to women than the temporary peregrinations of electoral politics.

At the same time, she thinks that policy has become a wedge used to justify treating politically successful women poorly, and that this outweighs whatever individual beliefs a woman politician might have. Thus the memory of a generation of female politicians is more important than what female politicians might do.

Remember, when Pelosi took the Speakership, Violet was far more excited that a woman---any woman---had taken that position than anything else.

Seen this way (and I can see how someone with a strong anthropological focus like Violet might come to this conclusion), female unity over femaleness becomes more important than who is some temporary patriarchal tool having some temporary patriarchal power. Because 4chan awoke her to the cultural train about to run women over, or something.

belledame222 said...

and this conflicts with "she's lost it" how, exactly?

Because the day I can't mock or criticize a religious right cartoonlike shill who makes Dubya come off like Winston Churchill, who was in the right place at the right time to be tapped for an office she has -no business- being anywhere -near-, simply because she's a woman, is the day I...I can't think of anything stupid enough, actually.

yeah, I know. Criticize her policies, that's okay, but why so sexist and unfair and MEEN, what is the world coming to. Well, yes, I do think there's a lot of misogynist bullshit out there, duh, not that there isn't -already- a fuckload of sexism in the way she and the entire campaign are using her looks and lumbering coquettishness in a sad attempt to lure teh menz (and there are some even sadder accounts that apparently it succeeded; try to read Rich Lowry's gushing account without gagging). As I said: I still don't find it particularly funny to keep harping on it, calling her a "faux MILF" (not interested in what would make it "real" and I'm beyond sick of that stupid fucking acronym) or, you know, yeah, Sandra Bernhard is a fucking asshole (she always was) and deserved to lose that gig. Sure.

But as for being -unfair?- Or the idea that this is some new terrible thing that's never happened before in history, either the crap sexism or the zomg meen personal attacks over someone running for public office?

"Lean over here so I can slap you."

Seriously, how fucking sexist is the idea that she's this fragile little glass figurine that we're all supposed to stop -mocking- suddenly because we share a set of chromosomes? Fuck that noise. She is -not- just another Republican; that is an insult to Republicans who aren't total 'stains. She's a darling of the Religious Right dressing her smug ignorant xenophobia up in faux populism. She's -worse- than Bush. Do not fucking sit there and try to tell me how she's not so bad after ranting for the last eight years about "just impeach the stupid freak." Or that Obama, who actually has half a brain and doesn't believe in overturning Roe v. Wade and yes! is going to have say over the court, no! it isn't a fucking lost cause already you eejit, is just as bad as McCain with his 0% NARAL rating and his charming assistant there, and -yes- she believes in no exceptions for rape or incest, do the fucking research yourself.

among many, many other things.

listen, it's really nice if the worst thing that ever happens to you is that you're terribly terribly affronted by the way a bunch of asshole media pundits and fellows bloggers talk about women. Know what? -Turn it off and go outside.- Voila! Problem solved! If only the economy or lack of health care or wanting to get married or needing an abortion and not being able to because of more fucking fundies were solved that easily.

and mandos, I'm charging you from here on out because I know perfectly well that was exactly the sort of rant you were hoping to provoke.

belledame222 said...

by the way, if I had any thought of still taking her remotely seriously, Violet, it's gone with the realization that she's deleting comments from people, men excuse me, who take issue with Donna Darko's comparison of her over-investment in politics to being -raped-, but is allowing the odious Sis to pronounce that men can't be raped, "only "sodomized" without so much as a murmur. fuck off.

that, and of course while we're being oh so reasonable about Palin, none of the dogwhistling or fearmongering or outright lies about Obama is anything but pure common sense. because misogyny is the worst nay -only- thing evar and any reasonable person applies Violet's standards to what is and isn't beyond the pale, but racism, or homophobia, or xenophobic immigrant-bashing, or pretty much fucking anything else, -crickets crickets crickets-

go tell it to DAR. go tell it to, I don't know, Anita Fucking Bryant, okay. The world is full of right wing women who're all about fighting for our wimminly virtue while only too happy to fuck over everyone else. I and like 95% of actual women who are -also- affected by racism, homophobia, and any number of other factors including just plain -life,- owe them exactly squat. Clue phone. Ring.

THis was smart, too, the "sexy Puritan" archetype. speaking of Anita Bryant, they mention her as the forerunner of the type.
