I have no idea what this is going to mean, however that woman was one of the bravest politicians I have ever seen, it makes me embarrassed how bush completely disappeared after 911 and wouldn't set foot on the ground when New Orleans was going to hell.
I don't know either, but I am thinking: nothing good.
leaves some egg on the Bush admin's face too I take it, but frankly that's the least of it, at least as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure it's all -they- care about.
It seems like there is a bit of Bhutto blaming going on, the bbc had a line in their front page article about how Bhutto was brave BUT probably shouldn't have taken the risk. This pisses me off to a great degree, the news media seems to have a pervasive belief that everything is too dangerous and not worth any risk. But if the payoff is stablizing an entire nation someone needs to be brave enough to risk assassination or else there isn't any hope for any of us.
As to what will happen, If he hadn't just tried it I would guess that the Pres would try to put the country on lockdown and install himself leader for life, under the excuse that he has to to keep the country from imploding- and that western powers would let him because they are afraid of the country imploding. However he just did that and it didn't work and there is a huge backlash against him. Maybe his time is up? Although who can you replace him with? since people like Bhutto don't grow on trees Interestingly, Motherjones has an article up about how the west is overreacting.
Hi I think we are all shocked and angry. My greatest concern is Pakistan imploding and some of their tactical warheads get loose. Hopefully we will find out who did this.
