I have to ask: d'you think they kept Garbage Bag Gal instead of the other one because they thought it'd make better television--you know, because she was sure she was gonna be axed and he thought he was gonna win-- or because they really thought wossname's was worse? At least he made an effort...and c'mon, haven't any of these people heard of, ummm, whatever fetish it probably was?
Also, what'd they do in the last Gristedes one? Did any of it involve fruit roll-ups used like leather? Please say yes. Oh please.

I thought they should have kicked them both off. And I thought the plastic cup dress should have won.
Can they do that? I thought it was just one person outed per round...
yeah, I liked the plastic cup dress, but I can see why the one that won did win: more creative design as well as material. although blue plastic dress was more "wearable," I guess, whatever that means.
I'm sort of amazed no one used Saran Wrap or aluminum foil.
ok clearly you should be on project runway because a fruit-roll up dress is the best idea i've heard!!!

I was just pretending in my mind that I was Heidi Klum and kicking both their sorry asses off in disgust. I think they kept trash bag dress because she seemed to have a quirkier personality than weird fetish outfit, and thus might feed into "conflict".
Actually, I thought the cup dress was more innovative in terms of material than the one that won, which was made out of more fabric-like materials, including vacuum cleaner bags. The cup dress also took a huge amount of courage, as there was no way to know ahead of time that the cups would be heat-shapeable into a well-fitting dress. It could have ended up as a complete unwearable disaster, while with vacuum cleaner bags, at least you know you will end up with some piece of clothing.
welcome, HC.
JM: I was thinking, like, either a fruit leather tube dress, or maybe the top like that, but the skirt like a ballgown with bubblewrap crinolines.
oh, and Lifesaver embroidery, or a belt, possibly.
oh yeah, I can't even sew a button, barely.
but I can DWEAM.
Personally, both of the last two annoyed the crap out of me. Raincoat dude's hair bothered me, sorry. And he seemed like he'd turn into a jerk, once his personality was allowed to show. Garbage bag lady's voice annoyed me, and she seems...delusional. Not smart. Annoying. And sort of poseur-ish. I adored the girl who won, I'd love to wear her dress.
I'm thinking of doing a Project Runway weekly chatfest at my place. Does that sound fun, or totally lame?
I laughed myself silly over that yellow-gloves and galoshes thing.
"Bridal nurse?" from Michael Kors, also cracked my shit right up.
:D
This is why we watch!!!!
PS: I hate the cracked-out tanning-freak already, whoever he is.
PP: no, that sounds awesome.
so I saw the end of it again last night. You're right: they both totally should've had their ass kicked to the curb. wtf? I think fetish might've been okay if it actually -looked- like anything...recognizable.
"Where is she going? Where would she wear this?"
"A night out on the town?"
"A night out on the town. Right after she gets out of the hospital."
...while doing some plumbing, apparently.
which one is the cracked out tanning freak? There's one guy who's really obnoxious, yeah, blond. forget which one he did though.
Actually a lot of the ones that didn't make the final six were pretty cool, I thought. I liked the one that used an inflatable dodge ball, for the top I think; the skirt was an interesting style.
oh, and I felt really sorry for the model wearing the garbage bag dress. Most of the rest of them had some fun with it--even the galoshes one got to throw the top part off to reveal...whatever it was underneath. But she was kind of resignedly plodding down the runway, like,
"Yes. I'm wearing a garbage bag. It doesn't even fit. I hate life. PleasepleasepleaseGod just don't let it fall off, that's all I ask..."
OK! I'll start a weekly PR chatfest, and see if I can get all of my blog pals to link to it. Hint, hint!
now I just finally have to arse myself to learn how to use chat. (never done it, apart from some telnet ages ago I suppose)
Actually, I was just using chat loosely, thinking I would put up a post each week with my take on that week's show, and have people come and comment.
oh good. :)
