Pink's new(ish; I'm so, like, out of the loop these days) video, "Stupid Girls," as captured by
culturekitchen. via youtube.
although Pink w/the long blonde hair and funny faces and self-mocking cleavage-y shots is reminding me a bit of Jenny McCarthy, and not in a good way.

Uhhh...bad enough. Shirley Manson's (of Garbage) version of "Stupid Girl" was far better than this tripe.
Pullleeeeeze. :-P

You're probably right.
I find the song to be uncommonly good satire from a very surprising source. I'm glad someone in the mainstream is giving it attention. I just saw a gaggle of them last Thursday evening at a restaurant exactly as Pink describes them in the song. I see it even more in the gay male 'community', which the song could just as easily mock.
Frankly, I'm impressed with Pink's moxie. You expect a song like Garbage's "Stupid Girl" out of Manson (and, yes, I agree it's a great song), but in a world of the musical quick-fad, here is Pink mocking some of her fan base trying to empower the women of the future to be more than just a clone.
I hope "Stupid Girl" is a fad that does catch on.
yeh, my reaction was at least partly based on a "consider the source."
what is myspace about, anyway? i can barely keep up with blog o'sphere, let alone livejournalling that all the wacky kids are into nowadays, let alone...
It's like a giant, annoying AOL chat room where people who have no opinion have a place to say it since 2002. Plus it allows those with no since of style or color the ability to make the web completely unreadable.
It's actually pretty damn funny sometimes.
I signed up under pressure since I have a couple of friends who LIVE by it and that's how they communicate with me. What the hell happened to email or a quick phone call? Oy!
Wow, I'm cranky today. It's the pain of the stitches coming out and my nose being almost broken. That's my excuse anyway.
@ howard

I'm stealing this! I mean, when I finally redesign my blog, I'm going to have it as a sidebar quote with your name/blog next to it, 'k?
I like Pink's version. So neeeyeh!
Go ahead and steal. Part of it was borrowed from one of the guys in my improv troupe, so I can't take FULL credit.
And just so we don't get confused:
Garbage's "Stupid Girl": probably about Courtney Love
and then Pink's completely different song with the same title: definitely about begging girls and young women not to fall into mediocrity.
There will be a test later.
howard: owie ow ow.
and how fun to have an improv troupe!
B: are the ow's referring to the recent face plant into a tree incident?
Oh, and if you want to see pictures of the damage. To my face. Not to the tree.
oh, god love you, that is some serious Not Fun.
Thanks, but I had a great time with it. Sure it was a bit painful, but my friend, Shari, and I had everyone in the ER and ourselves laughing the entire time we were there. It's been a long time since I laughed that hard.
And I realized I've competely turned this comment section to me. Sorry. Weren't we speaking of Pink?
Wait. Is there a good way to be reminded of Jenny McCarthy? Sadly, all I can really remember about her is that crap MTV show, bad gas, a photospread on a toilet, and that scene in a movie where her character supposedly dechromed a towball.
Well, no.
