Speaking of roaches: buh-bye, Tom DeLay

Yes indeedy, 'strooth, he's taking his bullwhip and going home.

Shakespeare's Sister has the Cliff Notes/roundup. The bottom line, as they say:

Ever the evasive snake, DeLay failed to mention that his decision may have less to do with a selfless interest in fighting “for the conservative cause,” and more to do with, uh, this:

"The decision came just three days after his former deputy chief of staff, Tony C. Rudy, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and corruption charges, telling federal prosecutors of a criminal enterprise being run out of DeLay's leadership offices."

Wanting to work for a Republican majority...scared stupid about what's coming next... tomato...tomahto. Whatever moves the shit through the pipes is fine by me.

Seeya, Tom.

***

Hey, there's always the extermination business, waiting to lovingly welcome him back with open mandibles--uhm, arms.

Ahhh..couldn't have happened to a better man.

Problem is, though...when the pardon does happen (and sorry to you liberals prematurely ejactulating to the site of "DDT" in orange prison gear being frog marched, but it just ain't gonna happen), he'll probably get some gig on Faux News or some other right-wing outfit dissing the evil "leeeeeebrols"...at double the salary.

DeLay is only a product of the system...there will be others to take his place. Rather than gloat at his chickenheaded demise, it would be far better for progressives to roll up our sleeves and organize ourselves.

OK...maybe a little gloating. Have a great life, DeLay..you fascist asshat.

Yah, it's really not an either/or. I know perfectly well three more are going to sprout where he left. But schadenfreude is a good thing all by itself.

and no, I don't expect him to actually serve any time either. just knowing how much the fucking egomaniac must be chafing at having to step down is working for me now; plus the whole, not having him there.

I say, 'Huzzah!'

and sing,

"Ding, dong one of the witch's flying monkeys is dead" even though there are too many syllables for the melody.

Unfortunately, I'm sure a new shining replacement version of DeLay will be revealed by his party soon enough.

I have to admit that I'm kind of sad that we won't get to see him lose his seat. Or see him showing up to court during his campaign. Or all other insane political stunt garbage.

I want as much schadenfreude for my buck - uh, his illegally gained bucks - as I can get.
