Gimme some retro sugar

Y'know, I've not been a huge Christina fan, but, and--I'm sure my saying so would erase whatever shreds of credibility I had among Certain People if i had any left to begin with--I'm diggin' the new song and dance (Daddy-O). anyway I'm a sucker for pin-ups and swing, and she sure does have a nice set of pipes on her.

I think Christina deserves more respect than she gets.

Also, I LOVE LOVE ~LOVE~ her hair/makeup/general fashion sense.

I've never had any interest in Christina Aguilera's work, but you're right, BD, that was a damn good music video.

Oooh that's a good one. I'm not a huge fan (as in, I don't buy her albums), but I enjoy some Xtina. More fun than Britney and she can actually sing.

This song, more than anything, has shown me that I was wrong about Christina Aguilera. It's a beautiful song, and her voice...just...damn!

It just goes to show that oftentimes, we should blame the artist's PRODUCERS for the poor choices the artist makes.

Christina (unlike many of the other "sugar pop girls") ALWAYS could sing; it's just that "the powers that be" were more interested in promoting her as a commodity. Now that she has a measure of success, she gets to have more of a say in what she does.

I'm a latecomer to the Church of Aguilera, but this last album has really hooked me. It's retroflavored in more of an homage sort of way than an embarassingly formulaic copy would be. If you like this track, you'd probably like at least half of it, and some of it's even better (assuming you like your torch songs bluesy and more than a touch dirty)

I was just about to say that she would be *unstoppable* with a good songwriter. Unlike Britney Spears and all the other lame bubblegum popstresses, she can actually *sing*.

She can sing, and there's someone at home there, clearly, also unlike Brit-Brit and a bunch of the rest of them. This video just had her energy jumping off the screen; she was vibrant and playful, and -that- is what's really sexy about it.

i'll have to check out the rest of it, p; dirty torch songs sound right up my alley...

...actually, Pink can sing, and there is also someone at home there, etc. etc. i like Pink.

Oh, I like Pink. She's not in the Britney category at all - far too subversive. Just watched her "Stupid Girl" video a few days ago - good stuff.
